TEEM People Peter Aldcroft, PETER ALDCROFT has an honours degree and a background in commercial advertising and public relations. He is a member of the Institute of Practitioners of Advertising.
After seven years in promotions, Peter was appointed Media Manager of BBDO London in 1974. He subsequently moved to Ayer Barker where he joined the Board as Media Director in 1981 with full responsibility for fifteen staff and gross billings of £20m. At Ayer, he founded The Media Organisation to plan and buy media for all UK offices of the Charles Barker Group, developing £4m worth of additional third party business.
In 1991, Peter moved to Newcastle to set up Alcazar Communications, a full service advertising agency. After four years, the company employed eighteen staff and billed over £5m. Clients included Braathens, Charlie Brown's Autocentres, Durham University Business School, Jennings Ford Dealerships and Yuill Homes. In 1995, Alzacar was voted 'North East Agency of the Year' by Adline, the Midlands-based marketing magazine.
In 1995, Peter was elected Vice Chairman of the North East Publicity Association with special responsibility for public relations and business events.
He joined TEEM in April 1997 with responsibility for business development including links with Pearl & Dean and with Henkel. He also initiated partnerships with a variety of marketing companies in the region. Peter helped launch TEEMlinkÔ, the new digital advertising medium, at the Tyne Theatre in October 1997, pioneering its development in a variety of locations throughout the UK. He has written regular columns for The Newcastle Journal and NEPA News and has contributed to a number of radio programmes as a spokesman for the advertising industry. -
