Dr. Victoria Alday-Sanz (Spain/Belgium) Victoria is a veterinarian specialized on Aquatic Animal Health. Her main areas of experience are shrimp diseases and diagnosis. She is currently working for INVE Technologies on the development of standardized challenge methods for viral and bacterial diseases and on the development of products for disease management and control. She has been the Regional Coordinator for the FAO project Assistance on Health Management for Shrimp Culture in the Americas and European Coordinator for the EU project Diagnosis of Shrimp Diseases in Ecuador where she was in charge of setting up a diagnostic laboratory. She obtained her MSc and PhD degrees from Stirling University and did three years post-doc at Mahidol University, Bangkok under the supervision of Prof Tim W. Flegel. She is a regular columnist for the Global Aquaculture Advocate magazine.
