Joern AldagJoern Aldag, 47, was nominated President and Chief Executive Officer of Evotec on 1 July 2001.He joined Evotec as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board (Vorstand) in November 1997.He led the Company from being a small technology provider to becoming one of the most prestigious drug discovery and development companies, in particular through the merger with Oxford Asymmetry International plc in 2000.Most recently he successfully executed the Company's expansion into proprietary drug research and development through the acquisition of Evotec Neurosciences in combination with a substantial financing.Since that time, Evotec has rapidly progressed three CNS programmes into clinical development.During his tenure Evotec has secured total financing of over EUR 150 million through an initial private placement in 1998, the Company's Initial Public Offering on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in November 1999, and major secondary offerings in June 2005 and April 2006.Before joining Evotec he was Vice President and Finance Director of MAN Gutehoffnungshütte AG, a subsidiary of MAN AG, Munich, and Business Director of Treuhandanstalt, the German agency charged with the privatisation of a part of the East German machine tool industry.He is currently a Member of the Monopoly Commission of the Federal Republic of Germany.Joern Aldag holds business degrees from the Harvard Business School (1994) and the European Business School (1982).
