    T. Keith Alcorn Keith Alcorn of DNA Productions, Inc., the Dallas-based company that created and produced the animated feature film Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, will be guest speaker at a meeting of the Friends of the UTA Libraries on Friday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the parlor on the sixth floor of UTA's Central Library.

    Alcorn's presentation for the Friends will be "Jimmy Neutron, From Idea to Silver Screen." The film was released in 2001 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. The film came out on DVD and video in July 2002 and will be developed into a weekly series on Nickelodeon in the fall. A feature film sequel will be released in 2004.

    Since 1992, Alcorn has served as creator, writer, designer, and director of an ongoing animated series of short features that have appeared on Comedy Central, Showtime, and MTV. He is a UTA alum.

    The Friends of the UTA Libraries were organized in 1987 to help support the University Libraries. The Friends sponsor public programs, assist the Libraries enhance services and collections, and build outreach programs in the community. Membership in the Friends starts at $10 for students and $45 for the general public.

    The Friends' meeting is open to the public at no charge.
