   Perry C. Schacht, P.E. has been appointed manager of Moffatt & Nichol's San Diego office, succeeding Alan E. Alcorn, P.E. who assumes a new role as the firm's Regional Coastal Engineering Representative.

   Alcorn, a coastal engineering specialist and Vice President with M&N since 1981, has been responsible for managing a number of the firm's largest dredging and beneficial use projects, including the Port of Los Angeles, Pier 400, Aircraft Carrier Wharves at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego and several Navy and port projects nationwide. Current plans are to allow Alcorn to focus efforts on coastal engineering projects with emphasis on the upcoming Bolsa Chica Wetlands project. He is an officer of the Pacific Chapter of the Western Dredging Association (WEDA).
