"Customers like Audi are telling us that they expect their storage infrastructure to work with equipment and software from multiple suppliers," said Dirk Albuszies, IBM e-server Manager for Audi AG."IBM is delivering on the promise of storage networking, and with the capabilities of our worldwide interoperability labs, such as the one in Mainz, we are able to demonstrate integrated solutions that customers can 'test drive' before making a purchase."
With the addition of the IBM Enterprise Storage Servers, Audi has developed a highly redundant system for disaster recovery and business continuance, as the ESSs are mirrored between data centers in two remote locations. If one location were to be affected by a disaster, the second location is capable of assuming the workload without interruption.
