   Print this Article P r e s s R e l e a s e Rebecca Albright named 2003 outstanding school board member Release Date: October 25, 2003 ROCHESTER-Rebecca Albright of Wilson, a school board member since 1986, is the 2003 winner of the New York State School Boards Association's top award for distinguished service. Albright received the Everett R. Dyer Award from NYSSBA President Sandra Lockwood Saturday, Oct. 25, at NYSSBA's Annual Convention.
   
   "Becky's leadership inspires us all," Lockwood said. "She speaks for children, staff, schools, and for doing the right thing and working toward the future."
   
   Albright has been a member of the Orleans-Niagara BOCES Board since 1994, where she has served as president and vice president. She is a member of the board's core team, partnership action team, ad hoc communications team, leadership and culture action teams. She assists in new board member orientation. She established a public relations committee and developed the position of public relations assistant.
   
   Albright was a member of the Wilson Board of Education from 1986 to 2002, where she supported a K-12 gifted and talented program and a facilities feasibility study. She still attends monthly meetings to provide reports on current Orleans/Niagara BOCES activities and issues, NYSSBA legislative issues and Rural School Association activities.
   
   Albright is president of the Niagara Orleans School Boards Association, which she brought back to life after it nearly disbanded. She recruited new members and worked to make the organization more visible throughout the community.
   
   Albright is also a NYSSBA Ambassador, speaking to organizations in her area about the importance of public education. She has made numerous television and radio appearances on behalf of school boards and public education.
   
   Albright is married to Ivan Albright.
