   Rev. Joe Albright
   
   Joe Albright became Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in 2001. Joe graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary. As a student at Columbia he was awarded a Columbia Merit Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement and a strong commitment to his ministerial call. He and his wife Joy are fluent in Spanish and enjoy the challenge that a second language can bring. Joe's linguistic abilities allowed him to become a Hebrew teaching assistant while at Columbia.
   
   As part of his studies Joe worked as chaplain and counselor to the homeless at the Crossroads Community Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia, a chaplain intern for the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Atlanta, and a community volunteer for the homeless with the Open Door Community Center for Atlanta.
   
   Joe also worked as a student pastor at a small rural church in Jackson, Georgia. Joe temporarily became head of staff when the pastor left to accept another call. Joe stepped in and filled the position until an interim was put in place.
   
   Prior to entering seminary, Joe as a high school Spanish teacher. He and his wife spent a year in the mountains of Jamaica teaching, through the mutual mission work of the St. Augustine Presbyterian Church and the United Church of Jamaica.
   
   Joe and Joy are proud parents of a young daughter, Marley.

   Joe was born in Jacksonville and grew up in Smyrna Beach. He and his wife Joy are both Flagler College graduates While members of the First Presbyterian in Green Cove Springs, his pastor recommended Joe visit Columbia Seminary and he graduated in 2001. Joe has experience as Youth Director, Student Pastor, Chaplain Intern, and Hebrew Teaching Assistant.
   
   Before joining HBPC he was Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Sarasota for four years.
