   John Albright , owner of Discovery Bay Waterski Center , was the first to idle us into the Delta's web.
   
   Looking across an inelegant landscape resembling piles of wheat flour , the only obvious guideposts appeared to be Mount Diablo , the twin off to the west. Hundreds of funky-looking windmills spun wildly along the hills , while down on the Delta the water refused to move under the stifling heat.
   
   Day 1 : Wakeboarding. Delta discoveries included abandoned boats used for launch pads and targets , and tacos on steroids along Orwood Canal.
