   Douglas E. Albright is a Member and the chair of the firm's Healthcare practice. He is a past chair of the firm's Business Department and served as managing partner of the firm for 15 years. He has been active in business transactions and health and hospital law for almost 30 years, representing hospitals, nursing and retirement homes, physicians, and other health related clients. Mr. Albright's practice places particular emphasis on counseling clients on preventive measures to avoid unnecessary claims and disputes. He represents health care clients on matters such as regulatory compliance, medical staff affairs, antitrust, corporate structure, reorganizations, sale of facilities, joint ventures, PPO and HMO agreements, construction contracts, personnel issues, and insurance coverage issues.
   
   Mr. Albright's professional memberships and activities have included the American Bar Association, Forum Committee on Health Law, past Vice-Chairman of the Marketing Group Committee and member of the Economics of Law Practice Section; the American Health Lawyers Association, Medical Staff and Physician Relations Substantive Law Committee: Peer Review Task Force and Joint Venture Task Force, and Managed Care and Integrated Delivery Systems Substantive Law Committee; the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys; and the Washington State Bar Association, member of the Health Law Section. Mr. Albright's biography is included in the 51st Edition of Who's Who in America, and the 9th Edition of Who's Who in American Law.
   
   Mr. Albright was born in 1948 in Bellingham, Washington. He received his B.A. in History, with Honors, from the University of Puget Sound in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Washington in 1973.
