Albright said he'll be responsible for the management and training of the district's 12 volunteer fire fighters, who cover a 36-square-mile area of Mokelumne Hill and Paloma.
"I'm excited about this opportunity to serve my home town of Mokelumne Hill," Albright said. "I believe in this district and all the hard-working volunteers and board members who are trying to serve the needs of our citizens."
Although he hadn't planned to return to fire service after retiring from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Albright said he felt it was his duty to help the district.
"Del lives in our town, has the right qualifications, and is well known in our community as someone who has the right leadership to get things done," Foley said.
