Debbie Albright, a native of Orangeburg, has been named the new chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Carolina Low Country. Albright is a graduate of Clemson University.
She first joined the scouts as a Brownie in 1965. Now, 37 years later, she will be in charge of Girl Scout membership and operations across the council's nine counties.
Before assuming her new post, Albright formed partnerships between area nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies to launch a new nonprofit, Perfect Fit for Success. The agency provides resources and training to more than 300 economically disadvantaged women and men seeking employment.
