   Oklahoma City, Oklahoma -- OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) has selected Roxie M. Albrecht, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.C.C.M., recipient of the 2007 Shubin-Weil Master Clinician/Teacher: Excellence in Bedside Teaching Award. Albrecht is an OU Physicians surgeon.
   
   The award honors a professional who is a role model of excellence in both the teaching and ethical practice of critical care. Letters of nomination from Albrecht's colleagues told of the tremendous influence she had on them.
   
   "We are very proud of Roxie Albrecht and her many accomplishments," said Russell Postier, M.D., chair, department of Surgery, OU College of Medicine and an OU Physicians surgeon.

   Albrecht is also serving as the director of the state's only American College of surgeons-certified level 1 trauma center, located at OU Medical Center.
   
   The award will be presented to Albrecht at an awards presentation to be held February 18, 2007, in Orlando, Fla.
