ST. LOUIS - Jan. 21, 2003 - The St. Louis Sports Commission's board of directors has selected Doug Albrecht, president and CEO of Centric Group, as the organization's new chair.Albrecht succeeds St. Louis area attorney Walter Lamkin, whose term ended in 2002.

"Doug has shown a tremendous commitment to the Sports Commission and we are fortunate to have him in the position of chair for the next two years," said Sports Commission President Frank Viverito.

Albrecht has held his position with Centric Group - formerly Enterprise Capital Group - since 1989.He chaired the Senior PGA Boone Valley Classic from 1996 to 2001 and currently serves on the volunteer boards of several area organizations, including the Regional Business Council and the St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation.Albrecht is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia where he played baseball and was an all-Big Eight selection in 1974.
