    ALBUM: echoes of the past

DESCRIPTION: Echoes of the Past is a collection of songs written before, during, and after a relationship, providing an intimate glimpse on a relationship that few artists have ever achieved. Aaron performs on most all the other instruments on this album which provides a particularly cohesive sound as he tells the story only he can.

From the gentle crooning of "Five Days" to the blues howl conclusion of "If You Go," Aaron establishes himself as a marvel singer, songwriter, and storyteller.
    ...
Not content to leave the message in his music, Aaron Albin, currently an engineering student at The University of Virginia, has put his talent to work. The proceeds from each limited edition copy of Echoes of the Past will be donated to Habitat For Humanity.

In the final act of this story, the title track, Aaron samples various musical sections and references melodic themes heard earlier in the album. Again, the message is married to the music; as Aaron relives his past, the listener does too. Echoes of the Past provides a portrait of a person and his emotional journey from depression to bliss, heartbreak, and finding the courage to stand up to the past and face the future.

REVIEWS: "Watch out ye men who have been made rotten with past relationships! "Echoes of the Past" may or may not be right for you as it celebrates a relationship through its entire lifecycle. Intimate lyrics aside, the music is rather exhilarating with breathy atmospheres coaxed into these lo-fi rock joints. Aaron Albin is a musician in his spare time as he studies engineering at the University of Virginia-I'm sure he fits right into the budding music scene down there in Charlottesville." - Smother Magazine
