The meeting started calmly as Brent Albertson, Duke Realty Corp.'s development services manager for Florida, showed the group various charts outlining the project's details, and various ways in which Duke would try and ease the building's impact on the River Club home owners.
Planned is a 15-foot-deep landscaping buffer composed of various trees. The building is slated to be painted an off-white.
The residents are requesting the building be painted a more neutral color, and that more dense trees can be planted, preferably atop a berm that is as of yet unplanned. To create a berm, Duke would have to undergo costly relocation of some parking spaces, Albertson said. Duke is willing to explore new options if outside funds become available.
"There's a high probability we can select an alternate color scheme," he said.
