   Undersheriff Steve Albertsen moved to Carson City, Nevada in 1976 from Southern California. Undersheriff Albertsen began his law enforcement career in 1978 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Carson City Sheriff's Office, becoming a regular Deputy with CCSO in 1981. During his time with the CCSO, Undersheriff Albertsen worked Patrol, Detectives, Narcotics, Gangs, and SWAT.
   
   In 1993, he joined the Nevada Division of Investigation as a criminal investigator working as a narcotic officer out of the Winnemucca and Fallon offices. In 1995, Albertsen was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned to supervise the North Tahoe Narcotic Task Force, covering the California and Nevada areas of North Lake Tahoe. During his time with NDI, Undersheriff Albertsen also supervised the, Tri-Net Narcotic Task Force in Carson City, the Major Crimes Unit, and the Special Investigation Unit. In January of 2003, Albertsen was appointed as the Undersheriff of the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
