March 23, 2006 - Vancouver Whitecaps Director of Soccer Operations, Bob Lenarduzzi, announce today that the Whitecaps have signed midfielder Jay Alberts and defender Adrian Cann through the 2007 season.

Alberts, 25, enters his first season with the Caps and third in the league.The 5'8", 150-pound native of Sunset Hills, Missouri, played in 24 games last year with the Minnesota Thunder scoring three goals and assisting on three.During his rookie campaign, Alberts played in 28 games recording 2,395 minutes, third most on the Thunder, while also adding three assists.In 2004, Alberts was drafted 37th overall by the Kansas City Wizards in the Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft.
