Dirk Alberts Dirk Alberts graduated in business administration in St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 1974 and began his professional career at a well-known chemical company. But as early as 1976, he found that his passion for Bavarian automobiles and motorcycles was very much stronger than his interest in chemistry.

His career at BMW started in the parts business, and after only a short time he was responsible for market analysis and sales campaigns in the field of parts sales.

In 1981, Dirk Alberts moved to the motorcycle division, becoming head of worldwide distribution for BMW motorcycle parts and motorcycle equipment. In this position too, Dirk Alberts again found an ideal synthesis between technology and sales, and in the 1980s made a crucial contribution to developing and expanding the BMW motorcycle parts business.

In this position, he paid special attention to building the US market, which at that time already played an outstanding role for BMW and continues to do so today.

In the early 1990s, Dirk Alberts looked for new challenges in a completely different area, and from 1991 to 1994 was responsible for international BMW motorshows and exhibitions, including the Detroit Motor Show, Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) and Tokyo Motor Show, as well as all other major automobile shows and exhibitions.

Since 1994, Dirk Alberts has been part of the team who were on board at BMW Mobile Tradition right from the start. During this time, he has built up the entire parts business, including parts technology, the technical information system, the network of parts production, the supplier organization, planning and pricing as well as the distribution structure both through all worldwide BMW dealers as well as through selected type specialists.

In addition to the parts business, Dirk Alberts has, for the last 2 years, also been responsible for the operation of the BMW Museum, worldwide assignment of classical BMW automobiles and motorcycles from the Historical Collection, as well as for the workshop and restoration work at BMW Mobile Tradition.
