   Mark represents public and private companies involved in the development and operation of real estate as well as private funds and state sponsored pension funds. He has extensive experience involving the purchase, development and disposition of real estate assets and investment companies throughout the United States, but with a particular focus on Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. He also regularly advises clients on real estate development projects, handles zoning and land use issues and forms joint ventures and other investment vehicles.
   
   Among other significant clients, Mark has represented a major New York investment company, and its affiliates and related real estate investment vehicles, since 1995 in connection with its acquisition of loans and real estate assets. He has handled for these clients more than $5 billion in acquisitions and financings. He has also represented large pension funds in connection with their real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including handling the recent sale of Lynnhaven Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in Virginia, and joint venture transactions with public REITS. Mark has also handled loan transactions on behalf of banks and pension funds. In addition, he represents an array of Washington, DC based developers of commercial real estate, as well as local businesses and not-for-profit arts and medical organizations.
