The program teaches children how to think in mathematical terms," principal Kathy Alberda said.The program has helped improve ISAT scores.The school scored 90 percent overall in math on the spring 2005 ISATs.Scores also are consistent in every classroom, Alberda said.
What is your greatest academic challenge?
"Language development has been our biggest challenge due to the need to adopt a new program.We are adopting a new reading program next year and we're hopeful this will help our students," Alberda said.
How can people help your school?
"Come to the school to listen to students read and and see our new math program.That would be a wonderful gift to our school," Alberda said.
What is something most people don't know about your school?
"This is wonderfully creative and innovative staff.They will do whatever it takes to make our children successful in their lives," Alberda said.
