   Norman Albert is a former Mayor and committeeman in Cranford. He has been a partner in the law firm of Goodman & Albert in Cranford since 1997. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers University and received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. Specializing in litigation, Mr. Albert focuses on personal injury, family law and labor law. Mr. Albert has been practicing in New Jersey since 1985. His community activities include Board of Directors, Cranford United Way, 1990-1996; Cranford Housing Board, 1996-1999; Cranford Planning Board, 1993; Cranford Clean Communities Committee, 1992-1999; and Downtown Redevelopment Advisory Committee, 1999.
   
   Mr. Albert, along with his Senate running mate Francis McIntyre, has supported the resumption of freight rail service on the Rahway Valley and Staten Island rail lines--a position opposed by all other candidates in the district. The rail lines run through Cranford, Roselle Park, Springfield and Summit in the district .
