Mike Albert selected as Outstanding Senior at OSU
Michael Albert of Beaver, OK., has been selected as an Oklahoma State University Outstanding Senior for 2006. This award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves through academic achievement; campus and community activities during their time at Oklahoma State University.After selecting the Seniors of Significance in the fall, the Alumni Association Awards and Selection Committee met with these top 39 candidates and selected 16 of them to be named as OSU's Outstanding Seniors.A dinner honoring the OSU Outstanding Seniors will be held April 26th in the Click Family Alumni Hall at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Association.Albert will graduate in May 2006 with a degree in landscape architecture and a minor in international business.He is the son of Jack and Vona Sue Albert.During his time on campus, Albert, a member of Alpha Gamma Rho, has served his fraternity as an executive officer and a director of Freshman Follies, Varsity Revue and Spring Sing.Albert also served the university as the executive director of Homecoming.He is an active member of the Student Alumni Board as well as President's Posse, and he has served as an executive of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Student Council.Albert is the president of Sigma Lambda Alpha, the Landscape Architecture Honor Society.Albert has served in the community through events such as Into the Streets and the ASLA Skyline Elementary Charrette.He has been a volunteer through Adopt-A-Highway and the Alpha Gamma Rho Winter Bonanza Cattle Expo.Albert, a Lew Wentz Scholar and member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, was selected as an OSU Leadership Legacy.He has been selected for prestigious international internships in Beijing, China, and Warsaw, Poland, and has studied and traveled to more than 20 countries.He was honored with the Romshe Outstanding Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Undergraduate Senior and the Mosel Top Senior Awards, among others.He was also named to the 2005 Homecoming royalty court.Recently, he was honored with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Dean LeCrone Award for top five graduating seniors and as one of Interfraternity Council's top three outstanding male students.
