Jeffrey B. Albert graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 and received his J.D. from Harvard University School of Law in 1971. While attending Harvard, Jeff was the Managing Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights - Civil Liberties Law Review.
Jeff has extensive experience in the defense of professional liability, insurance coverage, ethics and commercial litigation matters. His practice includes frequent appellate work as well as advisory work for clients. He has appeared as an expert witness in attorney professional liability cases and was, in May 2004, appointed by the local bankruptcy court to review major potential professional liability litigation under Pennsylvania's recently installed certificate of merit requirement. Jeff also serves as a mediator and arbitrator.
He is the author of "Recent Developments in Pennsylvania's Attorney Malpractice Law" published by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and a co-author of a 1988 survey of attorney malpractice law published in the Temple Law Review. In April 2000, he published an article there on a consumer's view of legal malpractice and has written on Internet-related issues. For the last twelve years, Jeff has contributed a monthly column to the biweekly publication of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Pennsylvania Bar News titled "Avoiding Liability" devoted to topics of professional liability avoidance for attorneys and law firms.
Jeff is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. He currently serves as a subcommittee chairman for the Professional Liability Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association involving mandatory disclosure issues and served as Chairman of that Committee from 1993 to 1996. He has served as co-chair of the PBA Task Force on Technology and Law Office Management.
Jeff has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America for his expertise in Attorney Professional Liability since 1998 and was listed in the June 2004 and 2005 editions of Philadelphia Magazine as one of the "Super Lawyers" in attorney professional liability in the Philadelphia area. He has regularly appeared on other local and national lists of attorneys in that practice area.
He has served as a township commissioner and has extensive background in political and governmental matters. -
