   The group was conceived by trombonists JEFF ALBERT and JEB BISHOP in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Conceding that the New Orleans' jazz scene would be 'out of sorts' for quite some time, the two decided to form a cooperative project pairing Chicago and New Orleans-based musicians together here in Chicago. Of the seven involved, each is a regular and talented contributor to their respective free music communities, making this septet a special one indeed. The LUCKY 7s will feature JASON ADAISEWICZ on vibes, JEFF ALBERT on trombone, JOSH BERMEN on cornet, JEB BISHOP on trombone, MATTHEW GOLOMBISKY on bass, KEEFE JACKSON on bass clarinet and tenor sax, and then QUIN KIRCHNER on drums.
