Janine has finally returned home to Southwest Florida after she and her husband decided 8 years was long enough to be away! So...this summer they moved back to Naples from New York City where Janine was an on-air meteorologist at WCBS for two years. Before working in New York, Janine also did the weather for TV stations in Dallas, Shreveport, Hattiesburg and at The Weather Channel in Atlanta.

Janine studied Broadcasting and Meteorology at the University of Florida and Mississippi State University. She holds the Television Seal of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society and the Nation Weather Association.

Janine is a graduate of Barron Collier High Shcool where she was a member of the Cougar marching band. She met her husband, TJ, in the University of Florida marching band and they are proud to announce they recently expanded their family.

    JANINE ALBERT

A Barron Collier graduate, Janine Albert has been with WINK since July, returning to Naples from New York City when her orthodontist husband, T.J., joined a dental practice there. A weathercaster for eight years, she's worked at The Weather Channel and WCBS in New York.

A high school trip led her to broadcasting. The Barron Collier marching band toured Australia, and she was the member chosen to discuss it on a Naples-area radio station.

That experience led her to major in broadcast journalism (with a minor in meteorology) at the University of Florida. She also interned at WBBH where a meteorologist urged her to focus on weather forecasting.

Missing the mark on a forecast is the one aspect of the business Albert has found difficult. "This isn't a perfect science," said Albert.
