    Rita Rani Ahuja graduated from UCLA with a degree in Performing Arts, after which she moved to Bombay, India. It was there that her professional career as an actress began to take shape. She worked in the theatre and in commercials while continuing her training as a classical Indian dancer.

    In April 2006, Rita was seen at Glendale's Alex Theatre in the Glendale YWCA fundraising production of The Vagina Monologues.

    In December 2005, Rita graduated from the Los Angeles Film School. She produced two short films, The Loop and Behind the Curtain, which stars Peter MacNicol of Ally McBeal fame. She also completed her thesis film, which she wrote and directed, entitled Bombay Skies, with Rajat Kapoor of Monsoon Wedding in the lead. Shot in Bombay, India, the film was selected to be part of the Los Angeles Film School's 2005 Industry Screening and was given the distinction of the best film in the short film category-2005 for the 3rd Annual Filmmaker Interviews' "List Awards. Bombay Skies is currently making the festival circuit.

    Lastly, Rita was seen as Andromache in ICAP's staged reading of Troilus and Cressida and as Amelia at the Underground Theatre's production of The House of Bernarda Alba.
