Ajay Ahuja - Controller and Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Ahuja serves as the Controller and Chief Compliance Officer for Vertical and is responsible for the firm's financial, accounting and compliance matters.He joined Vertical in late 2007.Prior to joining Vertical, Mr. Ahuja was the Controller of Five Mile Capital Partners, LLC a privately held alternative investment management firm where he gained substantial experience from 2005 to 2007 managing the company's infrastructure as it relates to accounting, regulatory compliance (SEC and FINRA), treasury and investor relations matters for the firm's hedge funds and private equity funds.At Five Mile, Mr. Ahuja had responsibility for the firm's accounting and human resource staff members, and was also responsible for managing the firm's annual audit, investor account statements, and accounting and tax matters for the firm's onshore and offshore investment vehicles.

From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Ahuja managed the finance and accounting functions in the metals and concentrates trading division of Sempra Energy Trading Corp.While at Sempra, in addition to the financial responsibilities, he provided treasury and operational support for brokerage activities, along with coordinating special projects.

From 1996 to 2001, Mr. Ahuja was the Accounting Manager for Global Custody, Correspondent Clearing and Commodities business units at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he has worked with domestic and overseas locations to manage the firm's financial and operational objectives.

Prior to his experience at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Ahuja, from 1992 to 1996 held positions at KPMG as a Sr. Consultant in Valuation & Appraisal Group and as a Sr. Tax Specialist in the Financial Services' Corporate Tax Group.

Mr. Ahuja is accredited as a C.P.A.He holds a B.B.A (Magna Cum Laude) in Accounting from Bernard Baruch College, CUNY, and an M.B.A. in Finance and Management from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
