PAWTUCKET, November 10, 2000 -- Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island recently named Alyn L. Adrain, MD, to the active staff in its Department of Medicine.

Dr. Adrain is also affiliated with Gastroenterology Associates in Randall Square, Providence.She comes to Rhode Island from upstate New York, where she was a member of Associated Gastroenterologists of Central New York, in Syracuse.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology magna cum laude from Providence College, and a medical degree from Brown Medical School.She served a residency and was chief resident at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in California.She was also a Fellow in gastroenterology and then an Advanced Endoscopy Fellow at Temple University Hospital.

She is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.She is a member of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of American, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Physicians.

While in Syracuse, Dr. Adrain served as an attending physician at three hospitals and was a Clinical Assistant Professor of medicine at the State University of New York, Syracuse.

She has published many abstracts and research articles in professional journals.

Doctor Adrain is a graduate of Brown University Medical School.She completed her residency, where she was Chief Resident in Medicine, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Oakland, CA; and a Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Doctor Adrain is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
