Richard Adler is the founder and President of DecisionPath.Richard has over twenty years of experience developing advanced software technologies and innovative systems architectures in business applications, operations and decision support, process control, and knowledge management.His work has focused primarily on developing executable models of complex systems that drive analytic or management functions such as planning, scheduling, and fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR).
He has served clients in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, insurance, financial services, and semiconductor manufacturing, as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States Air Force, and NASA.Richard has published extensively on component software, executable specifications, intelligent systems, and software architectures for distributed control.
At DecisionPath, Richard has consulted on product architecture, market and technology strategy with numerous software vendors and B2B marketplaces.He also maintains a research affiliation with Boston University's School of Management, working with the Systems Research Center's Real Vision Laboratory on executive decision support tools and frameworks.
Previously, Richard was a Partner at Computer Sciences Corporation Consulting Group.As the Solutions Architect for CSC's pioneering Net Markets practice, he consulted on numerous B2B marketplace projects and developed key solution elements including business and technology architectures, vendor recommendations, methodology, and knowledge management systems.Earlier, Richard was the lead architect for Lynx, CSC's component framework for distributed, high-volume transaction processing applications.In this role,he directed development of Lynx framework extensions for automated code generation, batch processing, workflow, business rules, and Internet integration capabilities.
Before working at CSC, Richard was Vice President of Advanced Development at Symbiotics, Inc., an object-oriented communications middleware company, where he developed innovative distributed software architectures for the U.S Government.Prior to this, he worked at The MITRE Corporation and for Control Data Corporation, working variously on Artificial Intelligence, software support for semiconductor manufacturing, and process engineering.
