After receiving his engineering diploma at a maritime high school, Peter started his maritime career in 1974 as a communications/electronics officer with the DSR Lines Shipping Company.In 1980 he transferred to the shore-based headquarters of DSR Lines and was promoted to Inspector assuming responsibility for the navigation and communication equipment on board the company's medium range merchant and general cargo vessels and ro-ro ships.

After unification of the two Germanys in 1990, Peter left DSR Lines to become a Project Manager with a company based in Berlin marketing and installing cellular networks, radio links and other communication products.

In 1996 he elected to return to the maritime environment and joined Sperry Marine in Hamburg as a Sales Engineer.On the acquisition of Sperry Marine by Litton Industries, Inc.Peter was appointed Sales Manager within Litton Marine Systems in Hamburg and handles the complete LMS product range for German customers and is responsible for all IBS activities within this field.
