Barry Adler

The Executive Director of RSD Aid & Awareness, Barry Adler, runs a media production company called Impactmedia.His resume is extensive and runs the gamut from producing movies and television shows to commercials and medical specials.He also happens to be the loved one of an RSD patient, his wife.

Barry Adler's production company Impactmedia will be producing the documentary.

Impactmedia is an independent production company that produces documentaries and television commercials.Barry Adler, a native of Canada is the director and producer of these programs, and has successfully produced and directed several medical, educational, informational and international films, as well; he has worked on many major network television shows and theatrical releases throughout Canada and United States since the 1980's.He has produced programming for a long list of clients such as Carnival Cruise Lines, Paramount Pictures, Discovery Channel and Universal Studios.As a professional writer, Barry has written several television shows, hundreds of commercials and co-produced a sitcom for a Canadian Network.

In 2005 his wife was afflicted with a disease called RSD, or CRPS, after surgery to her right shoulder, which now has constant burning pain, due to the neurological damage to her right upper extremity.As a result of her injuries and the constant need for medical attention, his family has suffered a great loss during the past couple of years including the immense pain his wife has endured.

Barry and Melissa have formed the RSD Aid & Awareness Foundation to provide aid for medical and financial needs, for those inflicted with RSD.The best way to fund this program to the degree which he truly believes it needs to be, would be to produce a documentary to foster a greater awareness and understanding of this disease.

In the article it mentioned that Barry Adler of Impactmedia was filming his documentary.I just wanted to make sure it was clear that American RSDHope is not the focus of the documentary.What is the focus is RSD or CRPS and its impact on the patients and their loved ones as seen through the eyes of Barry Adler, the filmaker.It is his families journey through this process.He will be including many interviews with patients, loved ones, as well as medical professionals.

Now, he came to the conference and filmed the conference for us.He also did quite a lot of interviews, separately, for the documentary.He interviewed many patients and their loved ones abouth their experiences with RSD, including myself and my better half, Petra; she runs, along with Tom Ruggles, our Loved Ones workshops at our conferences.

I wish in the article he was able to better convey the pain I described to him that we endure.
