Bill Adams, director of business development for Conco Industries, said he supports the tax increase because "developing work force is so critically needed in the construction industry. ... OTC can provide that training."

Adams, a member of the committee supporting this increase, said the industry has changed with the computer age.

"It's more high-tech and it takes a little more technical background," he said.

Wonders of Wildlife , started eight years ago as a dream and has culminated in a $52 million , 92 , 000-square-foot museum , Adams said.

The economic impact for the construction industry and community is significant.Twenty-five contractors have provided $34 million in construction services ; 65 percent are Missouri firms , 45 percent are Springfield firms and 33 percent are members of SCA , Adams said.

Needless to say , he added , our community has benefited and will continue to benefit from this project..

Bill Adams, an SCA member and business development manager for Conco Co., said increasing demand for energy is fueling his support.He's served on the Power Supply Community Task Force, a 17-person fact-finding group appointed by Greene County Presiding Commissioner Dave Coonrod and Springfield Mayor Tom Carlson in March 2005, and the Vote Yes for Local Power Supply Committee, a private lobbying group.
