"One of our goals is to get historical photos out to people to gain an appreciation for history," said Pediment publisher Bill Adams.
The power of historical photographs should never be dismissed, Adams said, because so much can be gleaned from them, whether it's the fashion, transportation or the surroundings -- all these visual cues are clues to life as it used to be.
The Lexington History Museum also participated.Yesterday, Adams spent the day there looking through hundreds of photographs.

Adams has high hopes for the book, tentatively titled Life in the Bluegrass -- The Early Years, which will be released in mid-November.
"There's such a rich history here in the Bluegrass," Adams said.
