Dr. Michael Abdo, Professor, LECTIO DIVINA
Dr. Michael Abdo was a Trappist monk for thirty-two years. During seventeen years of that period he served as abbot of his Monastery. In 1986 he left the monastic life and completed his studies for a masters in psychology. In 1987-1988 he was co-director of the Windstar Foundation. He presently has a counseling practice in the Aspen area. Michael's training and experience in counseling and doctoral training in religious studies enable him to concentrate not only on the integration of human feelings and emotions, but also, on the awakening and growth of the spiritual awareness in a person's life. In the LECTIO DIVINA workshop, he combines his rich experience in meditation and study in the monastery with his current practice as a psychotherapist.
