The practice of medicine is basically cautious detective work.
Those were the words to me by an excellent Cleveland Clinic neurosurgeon who was trying to explain to me that I wasn't going nuts and that an unexplainable 18 month lower leg pain was traceable to two somewhat dislocated lower back discs.
After this last year of various medical ailments finally afflicting me after 50 years of perfect health, I have learned a ton about the practice of medicine as a lay person. The Cleveland doctor was trying to make the point of how difficult medical analysis can be and that it is not an exact science. -
