Fadel Abdallah - Principal
The Islamic School of Greater Toledo is pleased to have Fadel Abdallah as its first principal. Mr. Abdallah brings a wealth of experience to this position as a teacher and as an administrator.
He received a B.A. in Arabic and Islamic studies in 1968 from Alexandria University in Egypt, a Master's degree in Arabic and Islamic studies in 1983 from the University of Minnesota.
As an instructor/lecturer he taught Arabic language, Islamic literature, Islamic history, Islamic philosophy and thought, and Islamic theology and law at the elementary, secondary and college levels at the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia, 1969-1977, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, 1979-1985, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, 1991-1992, and the American Islamic College, Illinois, 1993-1995. More recently, he has been an instructor at the IQRA' International Educational Foundation, the Michigan Islamic Academy, and the Toledo Islamic Academy.
Mr. Abdallah was principal of the Al-Fayha Secondary School, Al-Zurka, Jordan, from 1969 to 1970, and was general manager and marketing director of the IQRA' Book Center, Chicago, Illinois, from 1990-1995. He has also served as chaplain-counselor at the Lima Correctional Institution for the past four years.
In demand as a scholar, Mr. Abdallah is well known for his research, writing, editing, reviewing, and lecturing on Islamic topics as well as for his management and community outreach services. He has done free-lance work in the areas of translations, writing, interpretations, reviewing, consultation, counseling and educational-related services. He has conducted several educational conferences related to teaching Arabic as a secondary language and Islamic studies. He also has full mastery of Arabic, English and Spanish.
