   This makes us kind of a ‘super agency' down here, said Roger Abbott, president and chief executive officer for Johnson Insurance who will serve as chairman of the combined company. Johnson Insurance is a subsidiary of Johnson International Inc., the S.C.Johnson family's $ 2 billion financial services company that also operates a bank, an asset management firm and a trust company.

   The acquisition is the fifth in nine years for Johnson Insurance, with each transaction fulfilling the strategic goal of growing customer base or market coverage, Abbott said. Johnson Insurance wants to open agency locations everywhere Johnson Bank has locations to offer customers a widest range of financial services possible. Johnson bank now runs 33 locations in southeastern and south central Wisconsin, Hayward, Phoenix and overseas. insurance and banking operations are located in Racine, milwaukee, Kenosha, Hayward and Waukesha. Johnson Insurance plans to either open or acquire agencies in the Johnson Bank communities of Janesville, Madison, Mukwonago, Fort Atkinson, Kohler and Phoenix, said Abbott.
   
   ANOTHER ISSUE While the Christensen acquisition gives the Johnson agency the additional size it was looking for to represent more carriers and offer more products, the deal also addresses another issue – Abbott's pending retirement. At 62, Abbott will retire within the decade, he said.
