   Patricia Abbott joined the choir as Senior Chorale conductor in 1990, and has conducted the Junior Chorale since 1999. In September 2000, she also took on the administration of the choir further to the retirement of choir founder Georgie Crawford.
   
   A graduate of McGill University in Montreal, where she earned a master's degree in vocal pedagogy under the direction of Winston Purdy, she has also studied voice with Henriette Tardif and Gail Desmarais, and conducting with Louis Lavigueur, Patrick Wedd, Wayne Riddell, Nicole Paiement and Jean Ashworth Bartle. She has conducted the Chorale du Gesù women's choir since 1982 and has been a choral music artist-in-residence at FACE School in Montreal since 1996.
   
   Ms. Abbott has adjudicated at provincial and national festivals and competitions throughout Canada and has sat on the jury for the Juno Awards and the CBC Competition for Amateur Choirs upon several occasions. She has guest conducted in Belgium and France, in addition to giving numerous workshops on French-Canadian choral repertoire throughout Canada, in the United States and in Europe.
   
   Ms. Abbott is a member of the artistic committee for the Polyfollia International Choral Showcase in Normandy, France, and she was recently named to the editorial board of The Choral Journal, published by the American Choral Directors Association.
   
   She is the Executive Director of the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors and was the recipient of the 2002 National Choral Award for Distinguished Service given by ACCC.
   
   Quebec's choral federation, the Alliance des chorales du Québec, recently awarded her its order of merit for her contribution to the development of choral music in Quebec over the past 20 years.

   Patricia Abbott
   
   Patricia Abbott has been Executive Director of ACCC since 1993. She conducts the Chorale du Gesù women's choir in Montreal and the English Montreal School Board Chorale, and teaches choral conducting at McGill University. Pat was also the choral artist in residence at FACE School in Montreal from 1996 to 2007. She is also active as an adjudicator, clinician, singer and committee member. She holds degrees from McGill (M.Mus. in voice and vocal pedagogy), Concordia (B.A. in journalism) and Carleton (B.A. in history) Universities.
