Neil Abbott is the kind of student who lets his schoolwork do the talking.
His academic efforts have earned him all A's at Nichols Elementary School.

This is his first and final year at Nichols. Neil's family moved from Lexington where he attended Yates Elementary School.
As a fifth grader at Nichols, Neil has made some pretty impressive accomplishments.
One of his most significant achievements was earning first place at the elementary level in the district science fair held earlier this school year. Neil focused his science project on aerodynamics and which paper airplanes could sustain flight the longest.

"I split my head open when I hit a dead tree," Neil said. "That's when I decided I wanted to be a surgeon."
He knows such a career requires intense study but he feels ready for the challenge. "Science is my favorite school subject so I'll branch into another area," he said.
Neil added he has really enjoyed the smaller school size offered by Nichols. "I like being here a lot better than my last school," he said.
