   Lynda Abbott Lynda Abbott is currently a doctoral student in Instructional Technology at the University of Texas, focusing on online mentoring for professional development among educators. Her previous work has been primarily in teaching and editing. Lynda taught a variety of secondary-level (grades 6-12) language arts topics -- including speech, drama, and mythology as well as the more usual types of English classes -- as well as computer lab courses for 14 years. She also taught at the college level -- courses in language arts and introductory programming in BASIC -- for two years. Subsequently, she was the editor, for two years, of continuing medical update books for doctors, and then, for seven years, was a senior editor in the language arts department of the textbook publisher, Holt Rinehart and Winston.
