A resource economist and senior environmental program manager, Abbott brings a variety of environmental planning and permitting skills to his new position. He led a national consulting practice in NEPA and regulatory programs, encompassing work for energy firms, power generation, electric power and natural gas transmission, water and wastewater and communications projects. He has managed CEQA processes for numerous California state and municipal agencies, including federal and state agencies involved in joint project decision-making. With over 25 years of experience, Abbott is a highly regarded team leader for industry and government on major assignments with complex public policy, economic/regulatory, and permitting requirements. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in social/behavioral sciences from Johns Hopkins University and a master of science degree in natural resource economics from the University of California, Davis.
