If , as seems likely , all five shows run on Broadway simultaneously , Stroman will have achieved a milestone unknown since the heyday of Abbott himself , who directed 26 musicals in the 27 years from 1935 to 1962.

Stroman is establishing the Mike Ockrent Fellowship in memory of her late husband , who was also a sought-after director on both sides of the Atlantic until his death from leukemia in 1999.The fellowship will provide opportunities for emerging directors to work with more established directors on all aspects of a Broadway musical.In addition to providing experience in all facets of directing , from casting to opening night , the fellowship will also include a significant monetary award..
