   Gary Abbott is the Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Deeply Rooted Productions.Mr. Abbott has served as the Associate Artistic Director of Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre, and has performed with such companies as the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Theatre and Rudy Perez Dance Theatre.Mr. Abbott's choreography has been presented by the Cleveland contemporary Dance Theatre, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, and Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre.

   Gary Abbott has captivated audiences throughout the United States and Europe with his choreographic prowess.In 1995, serving as guest choreographer for Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre, he premiered his sensuous tropical work, "Desire".As a member of DRP's artistic team, he premiered the powerful and gripping "Panic", at the 1996 Spring Festival of Dance in Chicago and "Just Miss Sadie", in the Athenaeum Theatre's Dance Chicago '96 Festival in October.Abbott began his career as a dancer with Barbara Sullivan's Atlanta Dance Theatre, where he developed his interest in choreography.He received a grant from the city of Atlanta to co-direct and choreograph "Choreocase" a collaboration with leading Atlanta dance artists.
