Cal Abbott, CPA, MBA, is the Chief Financial Officer of EAS. In this capacity, he is accountable for all administrative processes that support the business operations including accounting, human resources, and information technology.
Mr. Abbott has worked in a variety of roles at TG since joining the organization in 1982. Since 1994, Mr. Abbott has served as Treasurer and Vice President of Business Development. In that capacity he has overseen the a team of professionals who performed planning, research, new product development, and internal business consulting. He has been individually responsible for investment management of a $200 million portfolio.
Mr. Abbott has also served as Chief of Staff at TG, heading corporate planning and research, public affairs, and governmental efforts. As Assistant Treasurer, he assisted in administration of the finance division, and as Controller, he supervised the accounting staff.
Before joining TG, Mr. Abbott served as Chief Financial Officer of AMI Systems, Inc., a public corporation with manufacturing domestic and foreign sales of approximately $25 million. In that capacity he managed all financial, accounting and data processing operations including job costing, inventory control, cash management, credit & collection, SEC filings, and tax research. Mr. Abbott was also responsible for creating the initial public offering on the NASDAQ for the company.
Mr. Abbott holds a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from St. Edward's University in Austin. Following his service in military intelligence at the Pentagon, Mr. Abbott was in public accounting at Plante & Moran, CPA's in Detroit, Michigan.
