Bob Abbott
Mr. Abbott is an early pioneer in IT and IT security. At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory he designed and implemented the first multi-user, multi-tasking operating system to go into 24x7x365 operation. There he was the Principal Investigator of Research In Secured Operating Systems (RISOS). At Pacific Medical Center, he was Principal Investigator for a project to apply IT to medical research. He founded an IT security consultancy, executing more than 350 security analyses for organizations worldwide. Mr. Abbott has been an invited speaker at numerous professional societies, seminars and conferences. He is a co-founder of the SF chapter of Information Systems, Audit & Control Association. Mr. Abbott received the 2002 FitzGerald Award for lifelong, and continuing, contributions to IT Security.
