Annamaria Abbink, Artist, Sage Fine Art, Taos, New MexicoBorn in Munich, Germany, Annamaria attended the Keramische Kunst Schule-a ceramic art school-for four years as an apprentice.She then spent two years as a journeyman potter and six years in Munich as a production potter.

She met her future husband, Bill-an American soldier stationed in Frankfort-while skiing in the Bavarian Alps.They married and moved to Chicago where Bill had been born and was raised of Swedish descent.For 13 years in Chicago, Annamaria created functional pottery for various galleries as well as for Marshall Field & Co.

In 1970 Annamaria and her husband moved to Vail, Colorado where she continued to create pottery.Together they opened a studio and gift shop named the "Potters Wheel" which they ran for 18 years.They also owned and managed for 25 years the Bed & Breakfast "The Bavaria Chalet."

In 1995 they moved to Taos where they built an adobe house and studio.In a dramatic gesture, Annamaria gave up 40 years of pottery and took up oil painting with a passion.She studied with well known Taos painter and teacher Ray Vinella (among other gifted teachers) and has since become a full-time painter.

Today she paints from life, usually outdoors, in the manner called "plein air" made so renown by the 19th century Impressionists.Annamaria is delighted to sell her paintings to people from all over the world.
