   Malcolm Abbey has been signed to head VRT Multimedia West, a West Coast subsidiary of VRT Multimedia. VRT Multimedia West is located in the heart of the newly renovated NoHo Arts District, in North Hollywood, California.
   
   A multifunctional production and post production facility, VRT Multimedia West has the capabilities of managing every aspect of our clients' film and video needs, from project development, to production and post-production. VRT Multimedia West's post- production capabilities include the editing of all formats of film and video, sound editing, titling, and motion graphics.
   
   Mr. Abbey has functioned as a Los Angeles based Writer, Producer and Director for the past eighteen years and has amassed a body of work that includes commercials, music videos, television, short films, industrials, and approximately fifty feature film credits.
   
   Most recently, Mr. Abbey performed the duties of Director and Segment Producer on a one hour multimedia event for Mattel, Inc. Also of recent note, Mr. Abbey produced and directed the acclaimed feature documentary "The Unmaking Of ... ", which is presently in worldwide distribution through Tomwil, Inc.
   
   In addition, Mr. Abbey performed the duties of Second Unit Director and on occasion, Second Unit Cinematographer for such feature films as "Bad Love, Soul Mates, Inevitable Grace and Cage II. Mr. Abbey also performed these duties on several After School Specials for Embassy Pictures as well as on various episodes of America's Most Wanted.
   
   Early in Mr. Abbey's career he directed several stage plays, the most notable among them was "Paper Dolls", which was developed into a CBS prime-time series. Additionally, Mr. Abbey has had a success as a screenwriter. Three original screenplays penned by Mr. Abbey have been optioned by independent production companies, and he has performed the duty of Screenwriter on approximately five additional feature films.
   
   Mr. Abbey holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Film, from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and is also a member of Local 600.
