  Mayor Abbato said that the Central Blood Bank is changing their logo to "Brighten Life" to reflect their many programs and to reinforce that giving blood means giving life.Mayor Abbato acknowledged the many services provided by the Central Blood Bank and said that a proclamation honoring them and declaring today as Central Blood Bank Day had been prepared. Mayor Abbato said the Police Department would be at Octoberfest on Saturday, October 6 to help individuals properly install child safety seats in their vehicles.The Green Tree Police Department has two certified instructors that will help with car seat installation.If a person cannot make it to Octoberfest for this free service, they should contact the police department to make an appointment and one of the officers will assist them. Mayor Abbato stated that the police department would be stepping up efforts to ticket vehicles parked overnight on the streets.He noted that if a resident has a special circumstance that requires on-street parking he should contact the police department in advance to notify them of the situation.
