Dr. Vincent Abbatiello has practiced periodontal dentistry for over 25 years and opened his own practice in 1972.He earned his dental degree with honors from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and continued to receive his certificate in periodontics from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery.During his education years, Dr. Abbatiello received numerous academic honors including the Harvard School of Dental Medicine gold medal Award.He was also valedictorian of both his dental and periodontal classes.
Dr. Abbatiello's leadership and commitment to dentistry are evident through his involvement in national and local professional organizations.He has been Assistant Adjunct Professor at Columbia University for 20 years, a visiting lecturer at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and cofounder and treasurer of Long Island Academy of Periodontics.He has also been a local and national speaker on periodontics.He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontics, Nassau County Dental Society, Academy of Osseointegration, and the Long Island Academy of Periodontics.His greatest honor has been his induction - both as a senior dental student and faculty member at Columbia University - into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honorary society.
Dr. Abbatiello has remained dedicated to serving the local community with the finest periodontal care.He is the former president of The Richard Molin Foundation for cancer research at Sloan Kettering Hospital, present board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Nassau Suffolk, adviser to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International, and board member of Westbury District Management Association.For the past 20 years, Dr. Abbatiello has also been an avid fundraiser for periodontal, dental, and educational research.
Dr. Abbatiello lives on Long Island with his wife, Jill.Together, they have raised three children, Kristen, 1973, Laurin, 1975, and Michael, 1980.Outside the office, Dr. Abbatiello enjoys boating, fishing, golfing, and horse shows.
